Description
Web services is a rapidly evolving set of standards and implementation technologies that have great promise for the world of application integration and distributed computing. The overall goal of this course is to familiarize you with the concept of Web services and what it will take to develop Web services using either Java/J2EE or VisualAge Smalltalk V6.0.

We will introduce the concept of Web services and give you a framework that describes how you can position the various emerging standards that are associated with Web services, such as Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Web Services Description Language (WSDL), and Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI).

Prerequisites

Prior programming experience in Java and/or Smalltalk.
